Welcome to Team 1250- Gator-Bot Alliance

The motto of our team is “Team 1250 brings advanced technology into historic places.” More than any other team, we are uniquely positioned to educate and excite the public about the role of F.I.R.S.T. robotics. F.I.R.S.T., represents "For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology." Our club helps students learn about math, science, and technology and the fact that engineering is open to anyone regardless of race, gender, or special needs. Now in our third year, our involvement with the F.I.R.S.T. program has inspired us to create and implement a variety of programs that make engineering exciting, accessible, and real to students who are both on and off the team. The Navigators are associated with Ford Motor Company, the company that brought the automobile to the masses. We are located inside of the Henry Ford Museum, a historic cultural center that contains a vast collection of technological artifacts ranging from the 1700’s to present day. Because of our location, we are probably the only public charter school in America that is truly open to the public with over a million visitors a year attending our location. Our goal is to use the robotics program to generate awareness, interest, skills and enthusiasm among the students to not only help bring the gap between the familiar technology of the past with the unfamiliar robotics technology of our future, but to help promote student's interests and skills in the future of science and technology fields .

This year we are happy to announce the addition of members from team 301 P.R.O.B.O.T.S. to form the Gator-Bot Alliance. Not only is this alliance a benefit to both original teams through fellowship and educated minds, but it also benefits students of all nationalities, gender, and special needs in developing an interest in science and technology.
