Application and Admission Procedures

The application process for students interested in attending 9th grade at Henry Ford Academy begins on December 1, 2009. Applications will be available on December 1, 2009 in the Administrative Offices at the Museum Campus or can be printed from this website. All mailed applications must be postmarked by February 26, 2010. Applications postmarked after February 28, 2010 will not be accepted and not be returned. You may also return your completed application to the Administrative Office by 5:00 pm February 28, 2010. Applications received in person after February 28, 2010 will not be accepted or returned. The lottery process used to determine the order of students admitted to HFA will be conducted in mid-March and parents will be notified at the end of March of their student’s admission status. The lottery is conducted by the accounting firm of Plante Moran PLLC. Upon enrollment to HFA, the student will be required to show proof of Wayne County residency

Incoming 9th grade siblings who wish to be enrolled in the 2010-2011 school year must complete an application for automatic enrollment.

If the number of student applications received exceeds the seats available Henry Ford Academy, in accordance with state law, conducts a random lottery based only on timely submission of application, Wayne County residency and eligibility of student to enter 9th grade.

Interested students and parents are invited and encouraged to attend one of our three Open Houses to learn more about Henry Ford Academy.
